Taken from the plane as we took off on our way home from a brilliant holiday in the Canary Islands. I couldn't believe the colours.
It was quite amazing to think that three days earlier I had been standing in the snow at the top of the volcano breathing in the thin air laced with sulphurous fumes. While I was in blazing sunshine up there, the rest of the island was covered in cloud, as it is in this photo.
